Popping Up on Buena Vista Street… This cool Little Free Library stand recently popped up on Buena Vista street (around the corner from our TreeHouse project) and has charmed the neighborhood. Constructed as an architectural model of the house, this Little Free Library houses children’s books (behind the front door) and adult books (behind the main windows). There’s even a second floor, complete with shake shingle roofing, wood siding, a masonry fireplace (used brick, mind you) and a little american flag. I’ve never built an architectural model this nice in my life—and I’m an Architect! Next time you’re in the neighborhood, bring a book to donate and check out one you (or your little one) would like to read. There are even two benches upon which to sit and read.
Little Free Library is a “take a book, return a book” gathering place where neighbors share their favorite literature and stories. In its most basic form, a Little Free Library is a box full of books where anyone may stop by and pick up a book (or two) and bring back another book to share.
